Wilshire Sports Assn. Baseball Season

The calendar may say Valentine's Day, but baseball season is just around the corner.

The deadline to register for the new season of the Wilshire Sports Association is Tues., Feb. 19.

Applications can be picked up at Landis General Store, Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors, Larchmont Barber Shop and Larchmont Deli.

Tryouts for the league are Sat., Feb. 23 at John Burroughs Middle School, Wilshire Blvd. and McCadden Pl., beginning with major league tryouts for 6th, 7th and 8th graders at 8:30 a.m.

Minor A league tryouts for 4th and 5th graders are from 10 a.m. to noon. Minor B league tryouts for 2nd and 3rd graders are from 1 to 3 p.m.

League play starts on Sat., March 9.

The T-ball season for kindergartners and 1st graders begins Sun., March 10. There are no tryouts, but the T-ball league will be limited to 96 children.

Cost to those whose mail-in registrations are post-marked by Feb. 19 is $105. Anyone who registers after that date will be charged $150.
